2009-10-01: Version 3.1 Released

  • Variable star search
Lets you look for variablity in a field of view given a series of images
  • Simple transformation
Lets you improve your accuracy by correcting for color difference and airmass difference between stars. This feature is only available for telescopes with established transformation coefficients
  • Ability to change object names, telescope names and filter names
  • Ability to do simple moving target photometry. Consider this a work in progress. You might make it work in non-crowded fields, but more sophisticated algorithms will be implemented in the next release.
  • More flexible selection of images in the image list
  • Sequences can be renamed, commented and edited directly as text
  • North-East and image scale is displayed on the image analysis page
  • Ability to open AAVSO chart and sequence directly from Photometrica
  • The error reported is now taken as the maximum of either the SE of the target or the standard deviation of the target-comp star sample.

2009-03-08: Version 3 Released

  • Major re-designed of the image analysis interface:
    • Zooming and panning
    • Star list for quick info
    • Image is centered by default
    • View pixel / ADU mode
    • Ability to overlay stars from GCVS
    • Ability to overlay stars from SIMBAD, with SIMBAD link
    • Improved display contrast
  • AAVSO comparison star import based on coordinates instead of name
  • Ability to measure separation and position angle between stars (suitable for double star research)
  • Quick navigation between images
  • Ability to shear both images and sequence files between users
  • Choose between average and median stacking

2008-09-23: Checkboxes in file list

After several user requests the check boxes have been restored in the file list (as in version 1.x).

Remember that you now need to check the files that you want to measure, stack, download etc. By default all images are un-checked. Use the 'Select all' link to check all boxes in the list. Long lists might be slower to load.

2008-06-14: Version 2.0 released

The time series tool is now officially released. This tool lets you analyse a batch of images, typically to produce light curves of variable stars.

Click the 'Measure All Images' link above the file list to get you started, and read the help pages as you go along. You can also have a look at the tutorial written by Ed Wiley.

2008-05-21: Version 1.2 released

A minor release with bug fixes and some new features.

2008-05-01: Version 1.1 released

This release contains a number of minor new features and modifications. Among the new features are the ability to upload files, save a complete report, adjust image display and save a sequence from an image (as opposed to editing the user defined file directly). This is a intermittent release before the larger 2.0 version that will contain support for automated multiple image analysis.
